Cookies pot fi utilizate de serverele web pentru a identifica și urmări utilizatorii atunci când ei navighează pe diferite pagini ale website-ului și pentru a identifica utilizatorii care se întorc la website.
Cookies pot fi atât Cookies persistente, cât și Cookies sesiune. Un Cookie persistent constă într-un fișier text trimis de un server web unui browser web, care va fi stocat de browser și va rămâne valid, până la expirare datei setate (doar dacă nu este șters de utilizator înainte de data expirării). 4. în Safari puteți bloca Cookies prin apăsarea Preferences, selectarea filei Privacy și Block Cookies.
Blocând toate Cookies va avea, în orice caz, un impact negativ asupra utilizării multor site-uri web. Dacă blocați Cookies, nu veți mai putea utiliza anumite caracteristici pe site-ul web (log on, access content, use search functions).
ȘTERGEREA COOKIES
De asemena, puteți șterge Cookies-urile care sunt deja stocate în calculatorul dumneavoastră:
1. în Internet Explorer, trebuie să ștergeți manual fișierele Cookie;
2. în Firefox, puteți șterge Cookies-urile prin, în primul rând, asigurându-vă că aceste Cookies sunt de șters atunci când selectați Clear private data (această setare poate fi modificată prin apăsarare Tools, Options and Settings în căsuța Private Data) și apoi apăsați Clear private data în meniul Tools.

PREFERINȚELE COOKIES
